Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna’s Marketing and Public Relations department was recently awarded a Silver Aster Award for their “You Wouldn’t Miss Your Next Hair Appointment, Why Skip A Mammogram?” advertisement, which ran in October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The Aster Awards, one of the largest national competitions of its kind, is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine and Creative Images, Inc. This elite program recognizes outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising/marketing efforts for the calendar year 2010.
The 2011 Aster Awards received approximately 3,000 entries from across the United States as well as Canada and South America. Participant’s entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their category. Judging criteria includes creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.
“It is such an honor to be recognized by our healthcare marketing peers,” said Tonya Long, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “This is great motivation for our department to continue to strive to inform the public, in creative ways, about the valuable services offered at Emory-Adventist Hospital. We are blessed to care for our community.”
All winners are posted on the Aster Awards website (www.AsterAwards.com), as well as published in Marketing Healthcare Today, a national healthcare marketing magazine.
