(Smyrna, GA, February 16, 2010) - Jon Hyman, MD, Medical Director of the Hip Arthroscopy Center at Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna (EAH) will present Current Concepts in Hip Pain: Advanced Hip Arthroscopy and Rehab, a free course for Physical and Occupational Therapists as well as Athletic Trainers. The seminar will take place Tuesday, March 23, 4:00pm at EAH.
The course will provide a hands on review of hip anatomy utilizing a dissection lab. It will address causes of hip problems, review the clinical presentation of patients with hip disorders, and cover how to complete a thorough evaluation. Dr. Hyman will cover the surgical techniques of Hip Arthroscopy, when to refer to a surgeon, and assist the clinician in developing non-surgical and surgical treatment. Additionally, the course has been approved by the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia to offer Continuing Education Units for qualified participants.
Dr. Hyman is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Hip Arthroscopy. He is a member of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy and is a graduate of Harvard University Medical School.
