SMYRNA, GA, (November 29, 2010) — Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna recently welcomed Rajesh Patel, MD, DAAPM to the active medical staff. He is a board-certified Anesthesiologist and is currently seeing patients at the hospital’s Specialty Center in Smyrna, GA.
Dr. Patel obtained his Medical degree at Baroda Medical College in India in 1983. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology in 1987 and taught Anesthesiology at Baroda Medical College for about a year. He moved to the United States in 1989 and completed residency in Anesthesiology at University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey in 1993.
Dr. Patel has expertise in a variety of minimally invasive therapies for the treatment of neck and lower back pain, including Epidural Steroid Injection, Selective Nerve Root Injection, Radio Frequency Ablation, Percutaneous Disc Decompression, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Sympathetic/Ganglion Blockade, and Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty for Osteoporotic Compression Fractures. He also has extensive experience with Intrathecal Therapy for the treatment of pain secondary to cancer.
