Our Mission
It is the mission of the Foundation of Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna to raise awareness of the hospital and its needs by developing programs that increase community interest, charitable giving and volunteer involvement.
Established in the mid-1980’s, the Foundation of Emory-Adventist Hospital is governed by a 35-member volunteer board, composed of community leaders including elected officials, banking, finance, small business, ministry, and medicine professionals. Our goal is to assist the hospital in the enhancement of patient services, staff education and the enrichment of the Smyrna/Vinings community through ongoing health and wellness programs.
Current Fundraising Effort for 2012
This year The Foundation has set its fundraising goal at $180,000. Your donation will be used to purchase 23 new Stryker hospital beds for in-patient safety and care. Patient safety and comfort during the healing process is a high priority at Emory-Adventist Hospital, with special consideration for the geriatric population.
The goal of this campaign is to provide beds with new technology which will track the patient’s position and alert care givers, both locally and remotely, if patients are at risk of falling. Side-rails will provide intermediate support positioning to assist the patients during bed entry and exit. Additionally, the new beds will have the capability to weigh patients for increased safety of both the caregiver and patient. Specially equipped ICU beds will allow a patient to be x-rayed without having to be removed from the bed.

Other Ways to Support The Foundation
The Foundation presents two special events annually:
Golf Tournament --The Swing into Spring Golf Tournament is held the first Friday of May. Sponsorships offer a several levels of participation/benefits.
Holiday Home Tour -- The Holiday Home Tour Smyrna/Vinings is held the first Sunday in December. Five or six homes in the Smyrna/Vinings area are decked out for the holiday and open for tour. A tearoom and sealed bid auction complete the day.

The Foundation of Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization under the IRS Code, sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(iii) and as such contributions are deductible as described therein.
Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers or gifts are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of the tax codes.
