Hospitalist Services
What exactly is a Hospitalist? Hospitalists are board-certified internal medicine specialists who provide inpatient consultations and management of hospitalized patients, and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Hospitalist works in conjunction with your admitting physician. Upon discharge, medical information will be sent to your physician, along with instructions on medication and follow-up. If your physician no longer practices inpatient medicine, is no longer on our staff, or if you do not currently have a physician, you will be seen by a Hospitalist.
If you are under the care of a Hospitalist, you can expect to be visited at least daily, (or more if your condition changes.) Hospitalists also recognize that the patient’s family plays an important role in the healing process and will meet with your family on a routine basis.
