Aimee Moynihan's Story


Aimee Moynihan of Smyrna, Georgia, seems to have taken on a new role in her life—as ambassador of the InQuickER program at Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna!

Aimee’s experience with InQuickER began last year when her mother was visiting from Illinois. During that visit, her mother fell and injured her knee. Although Aimee suggested that they go to the ER, her mother resisted. Relishing every moment she could spend with her two grandchildren, she just didn’t want to take the time. “She thought she would have to wait in a waiting room for 8 or 10 hours, so she minimized the situation,” says Aimee.

The next day, however, her mother experienced significant swelling and Aimee became concerned. “I knew she didn’t want to sit and wait for hours so I thought I would call our local hospital and see what the wait time was,” Aimee says. “When I got to Emory-Adventist Hospital’s web site to find their phone number, I noticed InQuickER. I told my mother, ‘Hey, Mom, look at this. You won’t have to wait.’” With this new information, Aimee’s mother agreed to seek treatment.

Explaining the process, Aimee states, “I logged in and scheduled an appointment time. We then stayed at home until it was time to arrive. When we showed up we were seen right away. It was amazing!”

In fact, Aimee was so pleased with the service that she promptly fired off an e-mail blast to her friends and neighbors telling them about InQuickER.. “I thought it was important for them to know that this service was available at our local hospital,” states Aimee.

About seven months later the Moynihans used InQuickER for the second time, when their 2-year-old daughter fell from the bleachers at a sporting event. “Once again I was amazed,” states Aimee. “I thought maybe the first time was a fluke—maybe the service wasn’t always so good. But when we came in for our second visit and still received exceptional service, I became a believer!”

Aimee’s husband, Jeff, shared InQuickER with some of his co-workers. This proved to be beneficial; when shortly after, one of his colleagues had to seek treatment for his daughter. Because of his conversation with Jeff he was able to utilize InQuickER and had a very positive experience. Then Jeff, himself, suffered an injury one weekend and, yes, you guessed it—he used InQuickER!

The Moynihans are thankful for InQuickER. “Our family feels fortunate to have such a great service right here at our local hospital,” says Aimee. “My mother still talks about her experience. We think InQuickER is the greatest!”
